National Operatic and Dramatic Association

NODA provide help, advice and support to enable amateur theatre groups, societies and individuals to achieve the highest standards of best practice and performance, whether that is drama, musicals or opera.

Inspiring theatre

Our vision is that amateur theatre is successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills and enjoy taking part, at all levels.

We are here to support the education and information needs of individuals and organisations with high quality services and products that contribute to the success of amateur theatre, as well as encouraging appreciation of the sector by participants and audiences alike.

We aim to:

  • Give a shared voice to the amateur theatre sector
  • Help amateur societies and individuals achieve the highest standards of best practice and performance
  • Provide leadership and advice to enable the amateur theatre sector to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

EROS Involvement

We are able to honour our  members for their commitment  to the club by presenting them with  NODA recognised awards.
The first award available is the 10 year badge followed by 15, 20 and 25 year badges. Others, such as a long service medal recognise up to 70 years of service to amateur dramatics.
We are proud to have many members who hold such awards, are still associated with the club and have been since it was established in the 1960s.

There are fun elements too. NODA hold many events during the year including the Annual conference at Peebles Hydro and an Annual golf tournament.
